Remuneration Package:
£18-22k depending on experience per annum basic salary + Uncapped Commission + Bonuses. Benefits: 20 Day’s Holiday, Private Medical Insurance cover, Phone, Pension, Free car parking and After 3 Months Company Car Band 1.
Job Description:
The Commercial recruitment consultant is responsible for providing dual services, acting as an interface to match job seekers (potential employees) to business clients (employers) through identifying and assessing candidate skills and employer requirements. Vacancies include permanent, full-time, temporary or fixed-term posts, specified by the employer in a brief (job description/person specification).

Liaising with businesses is a core task; building and developing relationships with new companies to widen the client base is essential.

Interviewing candidates on behalf of employers can include testing for specific skills, discussing types of work they are looking for and any further training needs and collecting any references, legal checks and requirements. You will have resourcers/administrators at your disposal to help and support you. You need to dedicate most of your time in acquiring new business and allowing the support team to service and maintain the contracts. Also your responsibility will be to find suitable clients and closing business.

Main Duties:
The Commercial recruitment consultant's role:
  • Most of your time should be spent actively seeking new business. To undertake the hands on approach in achieving and reaching targets and adherence to call rate targets and sales targets;
  • To identify appropriate channels and using marketing and business knowledge to extend company contacts. Implement strategies to utilize opportunities in the use of channels in order to effectively communicate marketing information to target audience;
  • Evaluating employers' business needs through regular visits and meetings with clients;
  • Negotiating terms of employment;
  • Interviewing potential candidates.
Other Activities:
  • Canvassing (cold calling) employers by telephone to establish new contacts and their precise recruitment requirements;
  • Documenting a client's details and vacancy requirements in a remit;
  • Clarifying and negotiating terms and conditions relating to the job role;
  • Advertising posts appropriately - drafting and strategically advertising using a wide range of media, newspapers, magazines or local radio;
  • Headhunting - approaching suitable candidates;
  • Reviewing applications, managing interviews, and considering candidates and short-lists;
  • Monitoring candidates when placed, providing a supervisory role;
  • Collecting feedback from employers on the performance and suitability of candidates who have previously been placed with them;
  • Maintaining current records and personal stats for review against performance targets;
  • Acting as a mentor, instructing and training junior consultants and managing and supporting the resourcers/administrators;
  • Attending recruitment fairs and other exhibitions or business events to expand the client base and develop new business.

At its core, however, this is still essentially a sales job with individual targets for Recruitment Consultants and performance-related pay and bonus schemes. The recruitment industry is fast moving and challenging.
